Pretty sure the only people that talk like that are midwesterners like from the movie Fargo. I know I sound a lot like someone from Washington because the only time people I meet in Seattle can tell I'm from Canada is when I tell them.
I'm from Canada and I've never heard anyone say aboot or pronounce anything oot for that matter but I have caught my self saying eh a couple times I just really want to point out even tho I know it's irelevant but Americans say ruff instead of roof and it's possibly the most agrivating thing sorry I just thought I should let you know so you can work on that
If you've ever watched the show you'd know that Canadians don't say "oot." Maybe in the Maritimes, which is clearly not where the show takes place but thanks for coming out.
What are you guys talking about? I'm from calgary and we live in igloo's and ride dog sleighs everywhere. In fact I just got home from walking my pet beaver..
Nope, 10:53. I'm pretty sure the "oot" was one of the best part of the texts. In case you somehow missed it, Canadians pronounce "about" and "out" differently than most Americans. Therefore, what many Americans hear is "aboot" and "oot." Hence, amusing.
Actually, the only people who pronounce the word "about" as "aboot" are from certain parts of Alberta/BC and Americans from northern Wisconsin/Minnesota.
K so I am Canadian and have never heard anyone say "oot" or "aboot" unless we are making fun of ourselves or confusing Americans, which is pretty easy to do :)
