6:37 while the dropkick murphy's may not have invented the bagpipe version of amazing grace, in the STATES (where WE live), you are far more likely to hear a dropkick murphy's tune than you are a random person actually playing the bagpipes. just sayin.
I posted this. It was my roomate at UCONN. We still have NO idea why he did that. He put it on repeat too! It was so unny because from downstairs people at the party were like WILL YOU SHUT THAT SHIT OFF!!
Why are you going on about the Dropkick Murphys when the OP doesn't mention them? If you ever walk around Edinburgh (where I live) you are almost guaranteed to hear Amazing Grace being played on the bagpipes at some point - it's pretty standard, the Dropkick Murphys didn't invent it!
9.48 on youtube (which I'm guessing it was and he wasn't at his own personal bagpipe gig) it could be any version, I was just pointing out that the dropkick murphys is not the ONLY bagpipe version of amazing grace. You don't need to get all up yourself like it was a personal insult.
He/she could have been listening to the new soundtrack CD of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, as that has a bagpipes version of Amazing Grace (from Spock's funeral) on it. :-)
I find it interesting that this came from the North. The Ku Klux Klan uses Amazing Grace on the bagpipes to open events, and I've never heard of it in any other context.
gotta love the dropkick murphys but in fairness bagpipes are scottish, the irish ones are called oillean pipes nd u dont blow them u kinda pump dem wit ur elbow
