We're waiting for the US to do it =P
This is quite ingenious backasswards thinking.
Must be a canadian thing. $50 for an ambulance home could be cheaper than cab fair there it sounds like.
Not worth it here in the U.S.
Too bad bout the poor ppl out there suffering a heart attack or some kind of serious life threatening problem... It's ok though, this guy saved himself some money. Nice one
Not that it matters cuz i think its a hillarious drunk idea and i love it either way...BUT, if it's a business establishment (ie: the bar) that calls for the ambulance you dont pay a cent, if it's you or jsut a person in general that calls from say a cell phone or house, they will take your info and bill you afterwards....starts at $50 and gets higher with the distance they need to take you in. Thats in Western Canada anyways :)
I think we'd make great friends.
Happened to me a couple times (sadly yes, more than once)... Depends where you are. In Toronto, I didn't have to pay anything, the other time in Hamilton I had to pay $50. OHIP covers $190 or something.
God, I love Canada.
Still in Canada it's $50, unless you have good coverage at work... Any taxi is cheaper than that. If they're nice, they'll even let you off with a good tits show....
I love Canada.
Ambulance fees aren't that bad. I've sent many friends to the Hospital instead of home.
You don't need to tell a cabby where to go, plus I'm 100% sure they'll be taken care of.
Toronto Represent!
tried this, still had to take a taxi home from the hospital, was still drunk and tipped the guy 50% and then got billed $50 for the ambulence reppin the 416 D=
